Questions

How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?

Choose "Wi-Fi network" under Content, then type the network name and password. Guests point their phone camera at the code and tap to join. Print puts the code, network name and password on one page.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The text is stored in the code itself, not on a server, so it works as long as the link inside works. There is no tracking and no redirect.

Which error correction level should I use?

Medium suits most screens and prints. Pick High if the code will be printed small, get dirty, or have a logo over it: it can still be read with 30% of it missing, but it needs more modules.

SVG or PNG?

SVG for print and design tools, since it stays sharp at any size. PNG for places that only take images, such as some social sites and documents.

How much text fits?

Up to 2,953 bytes at Low and 1,273 at High. Plain English is 1 byte a character; accented letters take 2 and emoji 4. Shorter text gives a smaller code that is easier to scan.

Why is the code black on white in dark mode?

Many scanners cannot read a light-on-dark QR code, so the colors never flip.
