ASCII Table & Converter
Look up decimal and hex ASCII codes, or convert text to character codes.
The ASCII table
The original 128 codes from 1963. Every later text encoding, including UTF-8, keeps them. Codes below 32, and 127, are control characters. The table names the ones still in use.

The converter gives the Unicode code point of any character: βΓ©β is 233, βζ₯β is 26085 and π is 128512.
Questions
Is this limited to the 128 ASCII codes?
The reference table is. The converter isn't: it gives the Unicode code point of any character. Unicode keeps the same numbers for the first 128, so every ASCII code in the table matches.
What are the codes below 32?
Control characters, first made to drive teleprinters: tab, line feed, carriage return and others. Most are unused today. The table names the few that still matter.
Why is an emoji one number here but two escapes in the Unicode Escape tool?
This tool counts characters (Unicode code points), so π is 128512. The Unicode Escape tool writes UTF-16 units, and an emoji needs two of those.
